Spooks Ale
| October 30, 2011 | Posted by Alec Fowler under Ale |
Friday night saw me at home alone as Charlotte was out to dinner with a friend from the planning fraternity. Therefore I decided to pop over to the co-op and treat my self to a nice bottle of ale. Usually I opt for the co-op’s own beer which is excellent, however I spotted a bottle of Shepherd Neame’s Halloween effort, Spooks Ale 4.7%. For more information regarding the Shepherd Neame Brewery please visit The Shakespeare, Manchester post.
Spooks Ale is a very fitting blood-red. It has a fruity nose and rich spicy flavour. I usually prefer the hoppy beers with the Spooks Ale being more of a malty number, however I thoroughly enjoyed Spooks Ale, the only disappointment was that I did not pick up another. Hopefully it will hang around long enough for me to get my hands on another bottle. If not same time next year.
